Our Initiatives
The Nepalese Physics Student Network conducts physics outreach under NSSR through Science Beyond the Classroom and the Student Empowerment Initiative, making core concepts visible through demonstrations, experiments, discussion, and continued mentoring.
Science Beyond the Classroom
Under NSSR's nationwide talk-session framework, the Nepalese Physics Student Network brings researchers and physics students into schools to connect classroom concepts with real phenomena, current research, and questions about how the physical world works. Sessions can include mechanics, energy, waves, electricity, optics, and introductory modern physics, taught through demonstrations and guided discussion.
Student Empowerment Initiative
Under NSSR's broader Student Empowerment Initiative, the Nepalese Physics Student Network conducts one-day science launches with basic physics lessons, low-cost experiments, and demonstrations. Students practice observation, measurement, questioning, evidence-based reasoning, and critical thinking rather than only memorizing formulas. The wider year-long model adds digital learning, a curated content and reference library, and monthly near-peer mentorship for Grades 9-12; NPSN volunteers can support concept clinics, problem-solving practice, simple investigations, and follow-up learning.
Fascinating physics, explained through questions
For Science Beyond the Classroom, the Nepalese Physics Student Network looks for the physics questions hiding in ordinary experiences and turns them into accessible talks for school and college students. The goal is to build wonder first, then connect that wonder to concepts, evidence, and research.
Talk themes: motion and forces; light and the universe; energy and climate; electricity and technology; quantum physics; and frontier research including particle physics, gravitational waves, and fusion.
How a talk works: a relatable opening question, a researcher-led explanation, demonstrations or examples, and open Q&A. Students leave with a clearer idea of how physics helps us investigate the world and how they can keep exploring it.
